Mabou Harbour man dies from stab wounds in Alberta

      A 22-year-old Mabou Harbour man was stabbed to death in the resort town of Jasper, Alberta on the weekend.

Kenzie John Beaton was pronounced dead at an Edmonton hospital on Saturday.

An RCMP spokesperson, Sergeant Tim Taniguchi, told the media that the RCMP were called to a report of a disturbance inside a hotel in Jasper early Saturday morning.

Beaton was found in the hotel seriously injured from what appeared to be stab wounds.

He was airlifted to Edmonton where he died later that day in hospital due to his injuries.

A 21-year-old man, Cody Kyle Jensen from Edmonton, was arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree murder.

He is in custody and will appear in court in Jasper on Thursday, February 9th.

The terrible and unexpected news has devastated the area.
